From Doubt to MVP: My Journey at the Taipei 101 Showcase

Today marked a milestone at the project showcase held at Taipei 101. The venue was packed with government officials, industry leaders, and media representatives—an overwhelming setting for me. My legs were shaking until I finally stepped on stage.

Despite countless rehearsals, the timer unexpectedly rang when I still had 40 seconds left. I had to skip two slides, including a key video. Flustered, I struggled to focus during the Q&A session, answering only half of the four questions asked.

Back at my seat, my wife pointed out the timer might have been triggered early and noted I hadn’t fully addressed some questions. I felt an intense wave of self-doubt.

But during the break, a tourism association representative approached me and said: “Your talk was the most aligned with the tourism industry’s needs. You didn’t just focus on technology—you tackled real-world challenges. We need people like you.” Her words brought me to tears.

To my surprise, I was later named MVP! Competing against established companies as a one-person team, this recognition validated the practical impact of my ideas on the tourism sector.

This experience reminds me that even as a solo contributor, extraordinary results are achievable with dedication and heart.
