From Humble Beginnings to Startup Stars
In 2019, QTCOMM was a nascent dream, a spark ignited by three individuals huddled in a cramped office space within a government building. Resource constraints loomed large, and the future was shrouded in uncertainty. Yet, we embarked on a mission to revolutionize Indonesia’s tax system.
Navigating Challenges and Doubts
The early days were a crucible of challenges and skepticism. Operating in a foreign market as a small, unknown entity, we faced an uphill battle in convincing people of our vision. Potential employees questioned our legitimacy, while others doubted our ability to deliver on our promises.
Despite the skepticism, we held firm to our commitment to making a difference. We fostered a culture of travel within our team, encouraging them to witness the impact of their work firsthand in Indonesia. There, they immersed themselves in the local culture and collaborated with our passionate Indonesian colleagues.
A Test of Resilience
The 2020 COVID-19 pandemic threw a curveball, forcing the evacuation of our Indonesian team and the temporary halt of many operations. Travel restrictions and lockdowns in Indonesia made maintaining a physical presence increasingly difficult.
However, we refused to surrender. We leveraged technology to bridge the geographical gap, staying connected with our Indonesian team and continuing to develop solutions remotely. This period also presented an opportunity to refine our strategies and prepare for the post-pandemic landscape.
Emerging Stronger and Recognized
As the pandemic eased in 2022, we were able to return to Indonesia, reinvigorated and determined to accelerate our progress. Our efforts bore fruit, and tangible results began to emerge. We gained recognition from the Indonesian government and industry partners alike.
The pinnacle of our journey thus far arrived in 2023 with our crowning achievement: being named Startup Stars Champion at the Economic Daily Startup Selection Competition. This prestigious award stands as a testament to our tireless work and our ability to deliver innovative solutions on a global scale.
